Larry Nelson

My name is Larry Nelson and I am running for an open Hershey Little League Board of Director position. I have been very active in Hershey Little League, over the past several years as an assistant coach-scorekeeper and have volunteered my time to support field maintenance and preparations.  My family and I reside in Derry Township and I look forward to the opportunity to further support our community baseball program and HLL.

Mathew Coulter

When I agreed to become a Head Coach for the HLL Tee Ball Division during the 2015 season, I did so with some initial reservation but also with excitement for the fact that I would be able to coach my son's team during his first year of play.  In just a few short weeks, I realized how incredibly rewarding it was to be able to help coach eager young kids the fundamentals of baseball.  When the 2016 season rolled around, I threw my hat into the Head Coaching ring without hesitation, knowing I wanted to continue to be a part of this fantastic organization.  During my two years as a Head Coach, I have learned a lot about what works well within HLL and what could improve, both from a coaching and an organizational standpoint.  Communication is absolutely the key to success within the HLL organization.  With that said, I hope to be able to use my extensive administrative/organizational skill sets, along with my coaching background and vision for where HLL could go in the future, to continue to improve and advance this organization in the coming years.

Jason Garver

My name is Jason Garver and I would like to become a Hershey Little League board member.

I have over 35 years of baseball experience as a player, coach, spectator, and now parent. My oldest son will start his third year next spring and my youngest will begin Tball. I have coached the last 2 years and plan on coaching two teams next year. I have been involved with Hershey baseball as a former Hershey High School Baseball player and now as a parent from Tball through the former Twilight league my entire life and hope to contribute to the future of this organization.  My wife Katie and I reside in Derry Township with our two sons Adam and Nathan.

Doug Hummer

I have served on the HLL BOD as a commissioner role for the past 3 seasons.  I have coached in Tball, Colts and Minors and have been around baseball for over 35 years.  I have lived in the Hershey community my entire life, and played baseball for Hershey High school from 1990-1993.  My goal is to work with the members of the HLL Community in making our baseball program better.

Myron McCurdy

I have over 32 years with endless experience working for children.  Throughout these years, my priorities have always included helping adult volunteers to not lose-sight-of the fact that these sport are made up of children.  Their physical and emotional well-being should always be the guiding factor in everything that we do with the kids—their “athletic accomplishments” are merely stepping stones along their pathway.  As a parent with 4 children growing up in the Hershey community over the past 13 years, and a parent who shares a passion for the game of baseball, I understand the challenges of maintaining a quality program for a community as complex as Hershey/Derry Township, while navigating the differing opinions and wishes of so many others who can be just as passionate.  I am willing to do what is requested of me as a HLL Board member and what is determined to be in the best interest of the HLL program and its stakeholders.   The skills and assets I bring to the HLL Board include collaboration, patience, openness, organization and integrity.

Professional experiences have included:  U.S. Army; Child Protective Services; MHS Houseparent; MHS Administrator.  I have earned a Master’s Degree through Duquesne University (Leadership and Ethics), and a Bachelor’s Degree through Messiah College (Behavioral Sciences.)  Youth Sports Volunteer experiences have included:  Coaching baseball across many levels from T-ball up through summer high school level, beginning in 1985 (Camp Hill, Red Land, and Hershey).  I have also coached or helped to coach teams in youth rec soccer and even a couple seasons with rec basketball.  I have served on various youth sports program Boards including: HLL, HYFA Board, HHS Football, HHS Softball and The Joy of Sports Foundation.  (I serve on several other volunteer board positions with various “children’s homes” or educational programs around the U.S.)

Aaron Fackler

I am interested in seeking an elected HLL Board of Director position.  My family resides in Derry Township where I have coached over 6 years.  I am excited about the opportunity to work with HLL organization in support of our community’s youth baseball program.
