As your newly elected President, I am honored to serve the Hershey Little League (HLL) community. I want to begin by extending my sincere Thanks to our entire HLL Community; our Families, Derry Township, the Derry Township School District and all of our Sponsors who support HLL. Your support provides our children with a myriad of baseball opportunities and wonderful facilities.
I intend to lead on the principles of integrity, consistency of strategic thinking, listening to different perspectives, and taking practical steps to design and implement sustainable solutions that provide for a dynamic and evolving organization. It is these principles that will drive my leadership and our HLL Team towards a better understanding for today and a more sustainable tomorrow for the baseball community of Derry Township.
I wish to acknowledge HLL’s past President, Myron McCurdy for his steady leadership and collaboration with the development of a solid framework and stable foundation upon which HLL can continue to evolve. I wish to acknowledge HLL’s past Vice President, Dr. Christopher DeFlitch, for his commitment and passion with leading the baseball operations which encompasses so many volunteers and logistics to ensure the successful implementation of a Season. In addition, the HLL Board will continue with active members; Dr. George Blackall (Secretary), Pat Meister (Treasurer), Matt Wildasin (VP – Chairman Baseball Operations), Mark Snyder, Chris Painter,
Doug Hummer, Dave Umberger, Jeff Schmidt, Vince Pasquini, Kathy Crowley‐Shea, Mike Miller and Dan
Schauble;
I’d like to reiterate some highlights from the 2014 President’s Report regarding this past season:
While the 2014 Baseball Season is quickly coming to an end and we begin winterizing our fields, the Board will be diligently working on several strategic initiatives to ensure that HLL is evolving towards a more sustainable future. My belief is that a sustainable future relies not only on strong leadership, integrity, decision due process and transparency, but also with a broader Community engagement in an ever changing youth sports environment.
Thank you again for your support, have a great off‐season, and we look forward to seeing you in the spring.
